Look, my Cherry blossom from my previous post has started to bloom! In preparation for Spring, I have been busy freshening things up around here. I have been busy sewing, painting, and re-accessorizing. I needed a change from my heavy drapes and my Winter decor. Here is my Winter fireplace mantle and built ins:
Soon, I will show you my bedroom pseudo make-over. I hope you all are having fun springing things up in your home!

Here is my new Spring mantle and built-ins. I spent very little money. I just re-used items I had in different parts of the house, with the exception of the painting which I painted recently and posted about a few days ago. I'm planning on making some new pillows. I would love to make new slipcovers as well, time permitting.
Here are my heavy Winter drapes:
Here are my Spring/Summer curtains. They are unlined muslin I had in my basement. See my Cherry branch near the window?
Below are the Winter velvet drapes in the library:
Now, my Summer unlined linen curtains. Notice my new Ampersand pillow I purchased from Ness?
My dining room Winter drapes:
My new unlined linen:
And, a little whimsical addition in the dining room to keep things from being stuffy. My chalkboard I made out of MDF and chalkboard paint. We've been trying to use the dining room once a week. The kids love to write the menu on it! (I wrote this one, though!)

Your house certainly looks more springy with the lighter window treatments and the other things you've done to it. Light and airy like spring and summer!
I also love to change everything to white in summer. The transformation always feels so fresh and free, somehow, doesn't it?

ACK! Your winter drapes are my bedspread and comforter that I have on craigslist for sale. Beautiful, but Not Me or Us...looks great as drapes!
I'm so loving the red couch and the chandelier. Hope you are doing well. Maybe one day I can get back to blogging more frequently. I miss all you ladies! :-)
I love the lighter curtains! And I love the chalkboard.
What a difference a pair of drapes can make in a room. Nice and light and airy for the warmer months.

I am just so impressed that you have two sets of drapes for your windows. What a difference it makes in the seasons. Beautiful!
I forgot to say that I really like how you changed your mantel too. :)
I really all of the Spring updating you did to your decor. It's amazing what curtains and a few accessories can do! Mary from Boogieboard Cottage
What a nice change! I can just picture a summer breeze blowing lightly through these curtains.

I like to change out my room from winter to summer, too. I like your post. This is the first time I have visited your blog. I will add you as a favorite. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely and light for Springtime. A perfect transformation.
What a difference just changing out your draperies make! You home is so beautiful and the light and airy drapes look just like springtime!
Be a sweetie,

oh my!!! this looks FANTASTIC, you did a great job making the rooms looking lighter and softer, love the white curtains. I have been considering white panels for a while now, at one time all windows in our home had white sheers all year round, you have inspired me.
