A Commission Painting

Hello everyone! I thought I'd show you a commission painting I completed a few weeks ago.

I met a lovely couple this past summer at an art show in this Arrowhead golf course community called Roxborough Park. Isn't it beautiful? The couple sees these redrocks every day. Can you imagine?

They loved one of my poppy paintings at the show, but it was smaller than what they had in mind. They asked me to paint a similar painting that was a larger size. I painted it in a 3x4 ft. Below is a picture of it on my mantle. I like to view my paintings throughout the day in various lights so I can see if there is anything that needs to be changed.

Here it is in my clients' home. We placed it on the wall where there was already a nail. My clients will move the painting up the wall a little bit.

Right outside these windows, are incredible views. I think these poppies will fit in very nicely!

The Smell of Fall

This morning, we awoke to that smell. That same smell that makes everyone hold their noses and say peeeeeeewwwww! .....Skunk! After making sure a skunk did not somehow make its way into our house, or was still hanging out in our yard, I got on the trusty internet to find solutions to get rid of that smell.
My youngest suggested all of us taking a bath in tomato juice. (Does that actually work when one is sprayed?) Thankfully this was not a solution we needed to test out.

One suggestion on the net that sounded easy was to put cinnamon in a pan and put it in the oven for an hour. So, as I write, I smell the wonderful smell that epitomizes fall for me. I am forced into thinking about fall. I don't mind, actually, it is my favorite time of the year.

This solution is working, for now anyway. Hmmm, it's actually making me want to bake an apple crisp!

Chorus

Happy Monday everyone! I'm trying to get my house and my week organized this morning. (I'm not sure that my house can ever get organized!) But first, I'm off to tennis lessons. Last week's lesson was a little better than the first week. The hand-eye-body coordination still needs a lot of work!

Anyhow, I wanted to show you my latest painting listed on Etsy:

Poppies!

Poppies are one of my favorites. I keep coming back to paint them. They are such a delicate but hardy flower. They are so laid back and they go with the wind, and they seem so social. I called this painting "Social Club". It is now on Etsy.
